Crushed Ice Dispenser Test

First you want to pull out the ice container and check the flap in the front of it. Make sure that it will move up (that is the position to crush the ice) and down (that is the position for full cubes to come out) <----> (You Should Also Notice, that the long rod at the bottom of the ice container moves when you move the flap). Next you want to check the solenoid in the back of the freezer (where the long rod on the bottom of the ice container goes into when the ice container is placed in the freezer). To check the solenoid, you hold the door switches like the door is being closed and have someone put the door switch to the cubed position and then push the ice lever in the dispenser door. See if the solenoid moves (either up or down). Then put the door switch to crushed and push the ice lever in at the dispenser door and see if the solenoid moves up or down. I think the solenoid stays up for crushed and goes down for cubed. If the solenoid works, then the problem might be with the long rod on the bottom of the ice container. If the solenoid does not work, then it is either a bad solenoid or a bad door switch.
